ONE POT MEAL = BALANCED MEAL

Balanced Meal have always been in the tradition and it is not a new concept. In Indian context it was called as “THALI” or One pot meal Indian and in other countries it was called as “ONE POT MEAL”. Thali comprised of different kind of food from different food groups arranged in a plate. One Pot Meal was prepared from mixing food from different food group and cooking in one vessel to conserve energy and save time.

What exactly is Balanced Meal?

Balanced Meal means including food from all the food groups in required quantity to meet the nutritional need for proper functioning of body.

Formula of Healthy Body

Balanced Meal = Cereal / Whole grains + Pulse/ Legumes / Nuts and Seeds + Fruit / Vegetables+ Milk / Milk Product + Oil / Ghee / Butter

It is the formula of Healthy Body, anyone of it missing will create a deficiency of any nutrient in the body.

  • Nuts and Seeds – Good source of healthy fats, also source of proteins, calcium, magnesium, iron, selenium.
  • Fruits / Vegetables – Good source of both soluble and insoluble fibre, Good source of vitamin C, Vitamin A, Potassium and other Trace minerals.
  • Milk/Milk-Products – Source of good quality protein, Vitamin D, Calcium, Vitamin A , Magnesium and other trace minerals.
