Introduction

Healthy will come from healthy gut means when your digestion is absolutely fine.Gut health is often neglected and not taken care of these days , but it is very important to understand that it is the Gut which plays an important role in keeping the body healthy. Half of the population complains of having gut-related symptoms- bloating,flatulence, gas, constipation, loose motions, heartburn, reflux and many more. These symptoms may not be very severe but they canbe the root cause for any major illness and also affect the general well being of the individual.Long back in Ayurveda, it is said that human disease happen when the gut is not functioning well so it is important to take care of the gut by keeping a check on the dietary habits in order to keep the it healthy.A healthy gut is defined as “a state of physical and mental well-being without gastrointestinal symptoms that require the consultation of a doctor.”

What is Gut ?

The gut (gastrointestinal tract) is the long tube that starts at the mouth and ends at the back passage (anus).The mouth is the first part of the gut (gastrointestinal tract). When we eat, food passes down the gullet (oesophagus), into the stomach, then into the small intestine, large intestine, colon, rectum and finally the toxic waste outside the body through anus. The gut (gastrointestinal tract) helps in digesting the food that is breaking the food in the mouth to absorbing the nutrients from each food in the stomach to excreting the waste substances, undigested food and germs as faeces.
